Truth to be told, before coming to Portugal back in the summer of 2022, we never heard or knew nothing about The Camino de Santiago.
Several times along our trip we would encounter travelers carrying their (what it looked to us) very heavy backpacks, lots of them walking with the aid of some sort of cane and if you looked carefully you could see some sort of a shell hanging from a pocket in the bacpack.
